Upcycled Journals

Journals are special, they hold our memories; our hopes and dreams, plans and schemes.  They can hold masterpieces created on a cliff, quick sketches while waiting for a bus, or the beginning lines for a beautiful poem.  Between the covers are captured moments of self exploration and a flow of creativity.  We fill them up, put them away and maybe refer to them again in another time in our life.

From start to the finish the creation of these journals is a labour of love.  The covers are vintage, some have handwritten dedications on the inside, some have the original book plates or library stamps, providing a link between the past and present.  The paper used for the pages is suitable for a variety of dry media such as ink, pencil or pastel and is heavy enough for watercolour. The pages are handsewn together with a waxed thread; cotton fabrics for the spines are carefully chosen and endpapers are selected from a variety of decorative papers.

Each journal is a one-of-a-kind upcycled creation; a truly unique gift for a unique story.
