Cabox Rock Video project

As part of it’s education and community outreach program, Cabox Aspiring Geopark is creating a short animated video with childhood characters “Bobby” and “Harry” (based loosely on renowned Appalachian geologists Robert Stevens and Harold “Hank” Williams) and their childhood friends who take the audience on a guided tour of the region’s geological heritage.

West coast landscape artist, Lori Deeley and I are painting the scenes for the video. Lori will be painting the big landscapes and I will be painting close up views of the spectacular geology in this area. The video covers many geological sites from the Humber Arm syncline up to the Melange on either side of Bay of Islands shores, the peridotite and Moho on the Blow Me Down Mountains ophiolite massif and the island arc on the western shore.

It’s a very exciting project and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I’ve never had my work included as part of a video before this. It is going to be interesting to see my paintings in this media.
