Paintings
My current work shows my fascination with the effect of light on a landscape, particularly when the sky is dark and cloudy and the sun comes through in filtered beams or is low in the sky and its rays highlight the tops of vegetation or a higher outcrop, leaving the rest in shade. It’s as if the sun were a spotlight and the clouds are curtains, pulling bits of land in and out of the shade. The first four paintings were created in 2024 when I began to let the light in.
